I baked this Vegan Breadsticks Dessert Twists for my book club last week. The twists came out sweet with cinnamon sugar, and my niece loved them.
Easy Vegan Dessert Breadsticks Recipe

This recipe for Vegan Breadsticks Dessert Twists uses simple ingredients like flour, plant-based milk, and cinnamon to create light and fluffy twists. The addition of cinnamon sugar gives each twist a sweet and aromatic touch. The total time for preparation and baking is about 30 minutes, and it yields around 12 twists.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup almond milk or other plant-based milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sugar (for cinnamon sugar topping)
- 1 tablespoon melted vegan butter (optional for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together almond milk and vegetable oil.
- Create the Dough: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. Knead on a lightly floured surface for a minute until smooth.
- Roll and Cut: Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick. Cut strips approximately 1 inch wide, then twist each strip a few times.
- Coat with Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar. If desired, brush each twist with melted vegan butter, then sprinkle generously with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Bake: Place the twists on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
