Decadent Vegan Turtle Brownies with Caramel and Pecans

These brownies feature a fudgy base topped with velvety caramel and a generous sprinkle of pecans. The recipe takes about 50 minutes from start to finish and makes 12 brownies, perfect for sharing with friends and family.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/3 cup melted coconut oil
- 1/4 cup almond milk or any plant-based milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup vegan caramel sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, melted coconut oil, almond milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Add Pecans and Chocolate Chips: Fold in the chopped pecans and dairy-free chocolate chips.
- Bake: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
- Add Caramel: Once the brownies are done, allow them to cool slightly before drizzling the vegan caramel sauce on top. Let it set for a few minutes.
