Juicy Vegan Peach Dumplings With a Buttery Golden Crust

I made this Vegan Peach Dumplings for my coworker’s going-away party last month. The peaches stayed juicy in the crust, and my aunt liked them.

Delicious Vegan Peach Dumplings Recipe

Vegan peach dumplings with a golden crust on a plate, garnished with fresh peaches and non-dairy ice cream.

This recipe yields soft, juicy dumplings filled with fresh peaches and encased in a beautifully golden crust. It takes about 50 minutes from start to finish, serving 6 people, making it a perfect option for gatherings or summer barbecues.

Ingredients

  • 6 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup vegan butter, chilled and diced
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • Extra sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add the diced vegan butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add cold water, mixing until the dough forms a ball. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  3. Shape the Dumplings: On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into squares or circles, depending on your preference. Place a few slices of peach in the center of each dough piece, then fold over and seal the edges, creating dumplings.
  4. Bake the Dumplings: Place the dumplings on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle a little sugar on top of each dumpling. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  5. Serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, and consider pairing with non-dairy ice cream for a delightful vegan dessert experience.
