I made this Vegan Beignets for my mom’s birthday last month. The beignets came out fluffy under sugar, and my mom loved them.
Delicious Vegan Beignets

These beignets are light and airy, offering a deliciously sweet bite with every mouthful. The recipe takes approximately 1 hour from start to finish and yields about 12 beignets, making it a perfect indulgence for any gathering.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup almond milk or other plant-based milk
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar for dusting
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add almond milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until a smooth dough forms.
- Chill the Dough: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the dough to firm up.
- Heat the Oil: In a deep frying pan, heat oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the Beignets: Drop spoonfuls of dough into the hot oil, frying a few at a time until golden and puffed, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.
