This recipe combines crisp apples with a spiced filling, all enveloped in a soft, flaky dough and baked until golden. Drizzle with a warm cinnamon sauce for a comforting finish that enhances the apple flavor. The entire process takes about 1 hour and yields 8 servings.

Ingredients

  • 2 large apples, peeled and cored
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 package (16 oz) vegan pastry dough
  • 1/4 cup almond milk (or any plant-based milk)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions
