I baked this Vegan Chocolate Orange Slices for my friend’s dinner party last weekend. The orange gave it bright citrus under shell, and my book club liked them.
Bright Vegan Chocolate-Covered Orange Slices

These chocolate orange slices feature juicy orange segments dipped in a smooth vegan chocolate coating, resulting in a refreshing, crispy exterior. This recipe is straightforward and takes about 30 minutes to prepare, plus chilling time.
Ingredients
- 2 large oranges, peeled and sliced into round segments
- 1 cup vegan dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- Sea salt for sprinkling (optional)
- Zest of 1 orange for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Oranges: Peel the oranges and slice them into thick rounds (about 1/4 inch). Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the vegan chocolate and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
- Dip the Slices: Dip each orange slice halfway into the melted chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip off. Place the dipped slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Chill the Slices: If desired, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of the chocolate before placing the baking sheet in the refrigerator to chill for about 15-20 minutes or until the chocolate hardens.
- Serve: Once set, remove the slices from the refrigerator, and if desired, sprinkle with orange zest for an extra flavor boost. Enjoy chilled.
