I made this Vegan Apple Crisp for my aunt’s garden party last month. The oats turned golden and crunchy on top, and my mom said it smelled like fall.
Easy Vegan Apple Crisp Recipe

This apple crisp features tender, spiced apples layered under a buttery oat topping that is both crunchy and wholesome. The recipe takes about 50 minutes to prepare and bake, serving 6 people.
Ingredients
- 6 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup brown sugar or coconut sugar
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour or gluten-free flour
- 1/2 cup coconut oil or plant-based butter, melted
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup maple syrup or agave syrup (optional for sweetness)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Apples: In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar until well coated. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
- Make the Topping: In a separate bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, melted coconut oil, salt, and maple syrup (if using). Mix until crumbly and evenly combined.
- Assemble the Crisp: Evenly distribute the oat topping over the spiced apple mixture in the baking dish.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
- Serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm on its own or with a scoop of vegan ice cream.

I keep the crisp covered at room temperature for up to two days, or in the fridge for up to four days. The stay crunchy, and I let scoops come to room temperature before serving.
