I baked these vegan jam-filled cookies for my sister’s tea party last month. The jam made the cookies colorful, and she said they were the prettiest cookies she had ever served.
Easy Vegan Jam-Filled Cookies

These cookies feature a tender, buttery texture that complements the sweet and tart jam centers. The recipe takes about 30 minutes to prepare and bake, yielding around 24 cookies.
Ingredients
- 1 cup vegan butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup fruit jam of choice (e.g., raspberry, apricot, or strawberry)
- 1 tablespoon almond or plant-based milk (optional, for moisture)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream the Butter and Sugar: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened vegan butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Mix the Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until combined. If needed, add almond milk for moisture.
- Shape the Cookies: Scoop about a tablespoon of dough and roll it into a ball. Place it on the prepared baking sheet and flatten it slightly. Use your thumb to create a small indent in the center.
- Fill with Jam: Spoon a small amount of fruit jam into the indent of each cookie.
- Bake: Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

I store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days. The jam stays sweet, and I let cookies come to room temperature before serving.
