I baked this Vegan Apple Fritters for my book club last week. The apples stayed crisp under the glaze, and my dad loved them.
Delicious Vegan Apple Fritters

This recipe for vegan apple fritters features a simple batter mixed with diced apples and then fried until crispy. The sweet cinnamon glaze adds a wonderful finishing touch that makes them irresistible. The preparation takes approximately 30 minutes and yields about 12 fritters.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup non-dairy milk (such as almond or oat milk)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 medium apple, peeled and diced
- Oil for frying
- 1 cup powdered sugar for the glaze
- 1 tablespoon almond milk for the glaze
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon for the glaze
Instructions
- Prepare the Batter: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. In a separate bowl, mix the non-dairy milk and apple cider vinegar. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the diced apple.
- Heat the Oil: In a deep pot or frying pan, heat oil over medium heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the Fritters: Using a spoon, drop small amounts of the batter into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar, almond milk, and cinnamon until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk or sugar as necessary.
- Glaze the Fritters: Once the fritters are cool, drizzle the cinnamon glaze over the top and serve immediately.
